Internship abroad

I have just been offered an internship placement in a comapny in London by the agency Internship In London.

I am now preparing my arrival in the UK in May and I was wondering if I need to register to any insurance in case of cancellation or health problem.

Does anyone knows how it works in the UK ? (I currently live in the USA, but I have a European passeport).
