School for a 3-year-old

Hello, my husband got a job in Bristol and we are moving there in April 2013 with our 3 year-old daughter. We live in the US now and I am trying to understand how school is going to work for her. I don’t really understand which kind of school I should look for. Is she going to be in preschool? I understand that at her age the schools are private, right? So at this point I wouldn’t have to find the school in the same neighborhood where we are going to live, I suppose. Does anyone have an idea of how much it is going to cost? In fact, any information on the subject would help us a lot. Thanks.
