Bringing 1 year baby to uk, requirements

Hi,

I am on a Tier 2 visa in UK and my wife and baby are joining me in 2 months. Could anybody advice me on getting the necessary things for the baby as required by UK rules. My baby is 1 year old now and somebody suggested that a pushchair is compulsory for babies. Is that true? Being from India, I never had such concepts built in in my mind. Are there other such requirements? Obviously I am trying to minimise my expenses as the immigration itself is a costly affair. I could not find much information on the internet. Could somebody help/point out to the right place for information?
