Dutch car in UK

HI All, I have a rather complicated question about car insurance. I am currently staying with my partner in the UK while the Dutch goverment thinks I live with my parent (as that seemed easier in terms of administration) in a week I will start my new job (10 month contact) in 3 hours aways from my partner in engeland, but still in England. I tried to find a cheap car insurance but somehow could not get it for cheaper than 4 K a year, as such my mum tried to surprise my by buying me a Dutch car for my birthday. (she should have discussed this first arghh) anyway.. Does it seems that the only way how i can afford the car is with a ducth cover (only 300 a year), which means that I need I have to pretend to still live in nl, or maybe live in both countries? Does anyone know if this is possible? I also wonder if living in tow coutnries or pretending to be living in a different coutrny as to where I work has any implications with paying tax ? Thanks for any tips. I hope to keep the car as I having a car makes it easier to still see my partner and go to work, also I simply cant afford the UK price for an insurance. Any tips of how to keep this car without to much complications are welcome!
