We are a well educated couple ages 67 and 44. I am the older and eligible for retirement but still working. My anticipated retirement income, between pension and Social Security is around 80K USD. I am a PhD level professor and may have a few more years of work in me but am basically ready to sit back a relax. My husband has a Master's In Social Work and has attained licensure in California, the most rigorous licensure in the US.. The accreditation standard for social work education are common to the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. Therefore, my husband should be work-ready and it is my understanding that there is a shortage of trained social workers in the UK.
Any comments on the feasibility of this plan, along with any suggestions will be most welcome.
