Moving from overseas to complete son’s schooling..UK or where?

Hi expats,
Complicated situation and looking for possible scenarios please.
Living in Central Asia, I am British passport holder about to retire.
My wife is Thai with no British passport. Our son, a British passport holder, has just completed GCSEs.
We possibly need to move. U.K. seems most practical option. Main reason is to complete son’s schooling. We have adequate funds and property in the U.K.
Not really dead keen on U.K., and although visited regularly, haven’t resided there for most of my working life. Son wasn’t born in U.K.

U.K. schooling makes sense, however son has no career ideas yet.
A levels, other courses, leave school and continue studies later?
Have family support in U.K.
Thailand route? Expensive international fees, son doesn’t speak Thai, as been in international schools around the world, military service issues? Very limited family support in Thailand too.
And how about Malaysia MM2H programme?
Other pathways, countries?

Advice warmly received. All possible options.

Thanks in advance,
Glowbell
