Self-employed relocating 6-12 months

Hi all,

My wife and I are considering relocating to Cornwall, (we are familiar with the area and I have relatives there), for 6-12 months. Not being at all familiar with visa requirements, is there a relocation company that anyone can recommend?

My wife is retired, and I work as an IT consultant for a San Francisco based company. They would like to have me in a European time zone to assist customers in the EMEA region, but they don't have any customers in the UK. I've looked through the visa web site and haven't been able to find my scenario in the lists of visa types.
