Farmland-Living Remote in Uruguay

I have been reading these posts for about a year and have seen little info regarding my question. I'm interested in purchasing Farm or Agricultural land in Uruguay.
I've seen posts saying it is totally unsafe to live remotely and if you are an expat you should live in the more populated areas. I have also seen contrasting posts saying people in remote areas are nicer and it's just as safe. Does anyone have an opinion on this?
Also, I'm assuming remote land is far more affordable than in more populated areas and with prices skyrocketing, seems the only feasible options. Opinions on this? We are not considering moving to Uruguay to retire. We are moving for peace of mind, a better life and to work hard to hopefully have the people of UG accept us as good neighbors. Any help or advice would be welcome. And please, no sugarcoating.
