Multiracial in Montevideo- what is the "White & Black" of it?

I am of many races & nationalities (white: Austro-Hungarian /Scottish, English, Irish, French & Black, Native American, and Euro-Spanish).

In addition to all of the above, my son is also 1/2 Swedish.

I am often mistaken as "Dominican" or "Puerto Rican" and my son is simply "White american".

I'm tired of U.S. Black/White/Hispanic classifications of people as if one race can not accomplish the same as the other.

Do those in Uruguay often feel the same as U.S.; or are they more open to people of multiple races?

I am planning a move to Uruguay 9/2014. I would love to meet with expats who have already taken their "leap". Thanks and much care Kami
