move to Uruguay w/o job

My family and I (wife and 2 young kids) would like to move to Uruguay this year (from the USA). We have been talking about it for a long time, but now finally are able to (financially). I will have a B.A. German and also a TEFL certificate before we leave, so I plan to teach English until we settle down and my Spanish isn't horrible. However, we will be moving without me (or my wife) having a job. Is this advisable? It's impossible to find English teaching work from abroad so I feel like I have no choice. We will have about $10,000USD in savings when we come as a buffer.

Also we would like to move to somewhere besides Montevideo (due to our limited finances). Rocha, Piriapolis, or Salto are on our short-list. Can English teaching work easily be found in these cities. Can I support a family of four from teaching English (and various side jobs from my wife and I)? We have a low standard of living (as far as US standards go) and want to become Uruguayan so to speak. No gated communities, not going out every night, shopping at markets for food, etc.

Sorry for writing so much, but I figured I'd get it all out there.

Thanks for your help and I hope we can make the move!
