Salt in Restaurants

You may have noticed that restaurants do not have salt shakers on the tables, they are supposed not to have them by law.
The Municipality of Montevideo has fined 20 restaurants for having salt on the table and also fined others for not having low sodium menu items.
You can get salt, but you have to request it.
