I'm getting a lot of mixed messages, both from online research and from the postings here.
Do they use a lot of chemical fertilizers and/or pesticides, etc. on their fruits and veggies down there? What about what they feed their animals (is it all soy and corn, or do they use natural foods - i.e. grass for cows and bugs/worms for chickens)?
To deal w/ a couple of health issues, I try to eat a ketogenic diet - picture paleo/primal, but with raw milk and cheese (etc.) allowed. So lots of grass-fed beef, free-range chickens and their eggs, nuts, seeds, veggies, and berries. In the states, this type of diet can be quite expensive...
I was hoping that it would be a little cheaper in Uruguay (especially since that's where a lot of US suppliers get their meat). Any thoughts/comparisons on that?
