utilities & passive income

Hi all,

My husband and I will be immigrating to Uruguay in the next 12 to 18 months and buying a place in Montevideo.

I have seen the electricity is expensive? Just how expensive is it? We normally keep are house at 65 during winter and 85 during the summer. We live in NY where the average monthly cost is between U$250 to U$450.

Then for residence, we will have monthly rental income of approx 15oo after expenses (home is paid off) and dividend income averaging between 25K to 35K yearly (pay out quarterly). How will this be viewed by the immigration department?

we plan on expanding on our web building and management services. Currently this has been a side business.

We have already been to South American and Uruguay several times over the past 10 years.

My spouse fluent in Spanish both verbal/written and I am currently learning Spanish.
Thanks,

Doyle
