Hello all,
I am the husband of a returning Uruguayan. We purchased an apartment in Pocitas last summer (2016). She returned to Uruguay permanently in October and I came to Uruguay in mid-December. Since then we have been busy completing our move and dealing with the last of the paperwork for her car. Until now we have not worked seriously on my immigration status. From all we have been told and have read, to start the residency we have to make an appointment to present documentation. The problem is whenever we call or go online there are no appointments available. We are stuck in this loop where she is told they are making appointments for 2018 but none are available and to call back in a week. A week later she gets the same response. Is there something we are missing? I’m in no hurry to get permanent status, but I would like to get some kind temporary status so that I will not have to leave the country every 90 days. At the very least I would like to be able to get an appointment to start the residency process. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks
