montevideo middle schools

As some have suggested, planning to arrive on extended stay before attempting residency--however, I need to enroll my 13 year old in middle school. I've read that school is free to residents, but feel she would be classified as visitor. Our first visit will be for one month. She is fluent in Spanish, and a US citizen. Any advice of how to make this happen? Know of a particular middle school that is more likely to accommodate? Would also appreciate any knowledge regarding private or public school. Looking at Parque Rodó area as this is where a language school that I would attend is located. Thank you!
