Urgent Question RE receiving Fedex or DHL in Montevideo

I'm an American living in Buenos Aires. I have to receive asap my personal laptop (4 yrs old) from a friend in the USA. Given the customs situation in Argentina I don't feel safe them sending it even with the highest grade of Fedex or DHL. I heard it could possibly get held up in customs mob in Argentina.

I'm therefore thinking of coming to Montevideo (or Colonia if it doesn't make a difference) and staying in a hotel and receiving it there. I wanted to know if Fedex or DHL can transport quickly and securely to Uruguay or if there are issues just like in Argentina. I'd be especially interested to hear from anyone who might know whether you can receive a personal laptop like this safely.
