renew the cedula

I want to share my experience, so far, and maybe others can share theirs. My cedula expires the end of February and I thought, because of the covid, I would begin the renewal. Uruguay has streamlined some of the process as you now can get the certificate from immigration that is necessary for foreigners online. I did that and it was confirmed by the DNIC.
Next step is to get the date for the "audencia". Here's where I hit a snag. Because of the new covid rules you cannot go to Abitab or Red Pagos to get that audience date (Uruguay does not permit it at this time). And upon further investigation I discovered that Uruguay is not issuing any cedulas for the rest of January. I went to the nearest DNIC office and was told the same. So, hopefully the offices will re-open by then.
Has anyone else have information about this?
