Things to consider before choosing a place to live

2 years ago
Over the years the smoke situation at our house in Maldonado became unbearable for an asthmatic like me.

Everyone in my neighborhood heats with wood and mostly just your standard inefficient fireplace. In the evenings the smoke is like fog as it lays down near the ground. Unless there is a lot of wind of course. Post pandemic it seems even worse as there are more people living there.

Not something you would ever know if you only went to see an area during the day or in the summer

We moved not all that long ago and our new location has none of that

At some point the Govt is going to have to require new construction to use efficient wood stoves

A couple other things to consider are;

*. Availability of high speed internet/fiber optic

*. Water pressure and water quality. Some neighborhoods are prone to leaks and that sucks dirt into the lines

* Well water available. If you have a large property/ garden buying water for irrigation can get pricey

* Delivery services. In our new house you can’t even get a pizza delivered. And sometimes you just want that convenience of food delivery

Any other things about the area you chose to live in that weren’t apparent at first look? Or even right away after moving?
