Hello:I have lived abroad sporadically, mostly in Thailand as an exchange student years ago and then for a short time in Switzerland. Nearing retirement in California, and considering Uruguay as a destination. I will apparently need to brush up on my latent Castilian Spanish. My partner is a big outdoors guy-kayaking, rock climbing, canyoneering..but he's also 68 and won't be setting any personal best records, just would like to explore that side of the experience with any active expats. Any recommendations as to where we might start the exploration in Uruguay-closer to national parks, etc? We are not big shoppers/no young kids/like an occasional nice meal or stroll around town, but Montevideo won't probably be for us.
