Building supplies and buidling own home

Hello all!
About six months now from my exploratory trip.
This question probably exists in the forums, buried a few pages deep. Least, I didn't see it there.
Anyhoo..
Can anyone tell me about building supplies?
How much difference in what you get there vice what the US produces.
Sheetrock for example. Maybe tin for a roof. Lumber i imagine is pretty easy to source there.
Will I experience problems with bringing all my tools to Uruguay (dewalt power tools, table says, planers, etc)?
I've done a lot of carpentry/finished carpentry work. Very experienced with electric and plumbing (took Union courses to learn correctly).
How is building on land you've purchased?
I assume there is some kind of building code and inspection?
I realize I am shotgun blasting with questions.
Hopefully the gist comes across. I really don't want to re-purchase 30k in tools.
