Advice for a gay mid 30 year old

My biggest fear is moving to a new country in my mid 30s and not being able to find people in my age group. Here in America it can be difficult dating depending on where you live as some places have a larger gay population and others are nonexistent. Besides Montevideo are there any other cities with a vibrant gay community I could look at?

I really loved Colonia del Sacramento when I visited but that’s the only place I saw and don’t know what other places to start looking.

Also I worry a lot about my dog and relocating her, she is special and doesn’t enjoy other dogs but will tolerate them. I board her a lot so she’s used to it but just nervous about the type of care I might find down there.
