The International School Saigon Pearl (ISSP) will hold TET FESTIVAL 2012 – with main theme "Tet of My Country" - from 15.00 to 19.00 on Friday, January 13, 2012 at ISSP campus, 92 Nguyen Huu Canh, Ward 22, Binh Thanh Dist., HCMC.
This Festival creates a chance to gather together, welcome traditional Lunar New Year, and discover Vietnamese culture through a lot of meaningful activities.
Tet Festival 2012 offers an opportunity for all participants to enjoy many atractive perfomances of ISSP’s students, teachers and staff; participate in cultural activities featuring folk games and traditional class throughout the school.
Many traditional crafts, traditional activities of Vietnam will take place at artistic exhibition. You can visit and learn about calligraphy at Ong Do Street, know more about Vietnamese famous traditional crafts like Dong Ho Painting and Bat Trang pottery at Dong Ho Street and Bat Trang Street. In addition, all participants have chance to take part in bamboo dancing or try rural bridge at Folk Street. They are able to enjoy coconut leaf art, shadow-cutting photo, flour art at Art Street as well.
This is also an occasion for children to play and learn. They can join in many folk games; for example, tug of war, jumping bag, flag race, damming drum, carry water, throwing shuttlecock, etc. There are interesting prizes for winners. Furthermore, children may achieve a lot in traditional classes where they will learn about calligraphy, folding coconut leaf, how to make a dragon of clay, etc. Children can get a lot of fun when doing and obtaining something by themselves in folks games and traditional classes.
When coming to Tet Festival at ISSP, participants can feel holiday atmosphere by seeing, listening, playing and tasting. People can enjoy many traditional foods which are very common with Vietnamese families in Tet holiday, as well.
