living condition in vietnam?

I just signed a 4-year contract with a firm in Vietnam. I will be working in Ho Chi Minh city for at least 4 years, starting in Jan 2013. I have heard quite a few interesting things about Vietnam, and hope to know more. I also will be married this year, both me and my fiance' may have kids and live in Vietnam until the contract ends, or even will settle here longer if things are going good. I wonder how's life, people, business opportunities over there compare to America.
