Commuting from HCMC - Daily

Hi,
Is it advisable (and practical) to commute from HCMC to Vung Tau daily by ferry? Do the ferry operators stick to schedule majority of times? Family would prefer to stay in HCMC due to access to medical facilities but my work (8:00 - 5:00) will be in Vung Tau.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
