Bringing goods into Vietnam?

I have recently moved to Hanoi and am setting up a business with a local.
There are products that I want to bring into Vietnam that I cannot get here, which will be essential to my business. However, I am finding the tax on anything bought in, by air or ship, can be up to 100%.....
Can anybody offer more specific information or advice in this area please?
