should i get a mortgage in US

Well, I know this is an akward question but I have been thinking about it for so long and couldn't find an answer. We are living in US. I am Vietnamese, my husband is US citizen white guy. We intend to live in US for 10 or 15, 20 years more to work, save up money and will move to Vietnam to live since it's more fun things, cheap and less stress and a lot of other things too. We don't know if we should get a mortgage in US now or no ? We live in Minnesota, not so expensive; but renting is still cheaper than getting a mortgage, counting with tax, insurance, interest, utilities, maintain, repair for the house, its way expensive than renting. House is not a good investment either since return is no so good. We are thinking to just rent and save the money in stock market. We have a daughter 2 year old too, we don't care to raise in both places US and Vietnam, cause really we don't want her to be a total American. When she grows up, we will come back a few year to help her get a job, no need to be a big job, I don't want her to have a stressful life. Again, should we get a mortgage now ? I feel like if we buy a house, we won't save much, all the money gonna come to the house.
