Booking one way ticket to Vietnam on a tourist visa?

I have a curious question on my intention of trying my luck in finding a teaching job in Vietnam, initially on a Tourist Visa, but do not plan to buy a return ticket since I will assume i'll find work quite easily and just do visa extensions within the country. I am coming from Australia direct to HCMC and I know most airlines require a return ticket, where in fact I would not know exactly when I would return home.
How would I go about this?
