Advice: year in Hanoi with adopted daughter?

Hello, Am contemplating spending a semester or longer in Hanoi with daughter, who is 12 and adopted from Vietnam. She is not keen on the idea---adopted when she was only a few months old and very much a homebody and into her friends, etc. Are there any families with adopted kids who have done this? What do you do about school? Would any of the international schools admit a student for just a semester or year? Thx
