Thailand expat refugee

OK.. "refugee" is not exactly correct.. But I was fed up with Thailand immigration hurdles.

So will vietnam be as by better. I've landed in HCMC and easily obtained a 3 month tourist visa.

I am 69 years old. Retired. USA passport holder. Single.

I was informed today that as of July 2020 that visa in Vietnam will only allow a 30 day stay. What?!!! Really?

What options do I have? Do I need a business to get a business visa? Any otheri g stay avenues. Leaving Vietnam every 6 months I'm OK with.
