San Juan del Sur in the Nicaraguan Pacific coast is a terrible village to stay.
My first 2 weeks a stayed in a hostal and had my own room. I had paid for a month, but as I did not accept a latino looking little homo boy with other Canadian little homo boy who was in surffing business officially harass me through the wall , as I was in my room , I was asked to leave the Hostal.
Well , I rented an appartment and it took only 2 weeks as all the pimps, drug seller who were working as a taxi drivers started ro systematically harash me so much that it was impossible to be in the appart ( as all their clearly out talked threats could be hierd in the appartment , about 15 hours a day) and as I felt my self, as a directly targeted as I was sitting on my balcony.
Like this was not enough, my mobile was stolen and I went to the police station to make an announcement and pointed out the woman, who stole the phone in their photo album. Of this followed, instead of solving the crime and return the telephone to it´s owner, that a police at the corner of the street started to call me with humiliating nick names as I passed by !
I thing, that if somebody is about to make investments into Nicaragua, and if the whole of the country is like San Juan del Sur, the making of investments should be thinken twice. Also if you are going to move into the nicaragua, stay first couple of years before making positive decisions.
The Whole economical development help from the U.S.A as well as from thye EU should be cuten off, so that the Nicaraguans would learn to earn their own living and will have respect for the tourism industry witch is higly respected and loved in Costa Rica !
