spanish on internet

I am out side of nicaragua, planning my trip to there and i looked up on face book for sites to the towns i plan to stay in and started looking up faces from the area and sending friend request...So many young people like early twenties and younger, hard to find older experienced people on facebook...So i did get accepted by almost a dozen youngsters and only one actual chat in spanish with no reply from any other people i texted questions to...all the chat was in spanish and i could stumble through it well but had to load up the internet translator for spanish and english and translate evrything they typed and everything i typed for them...any way no more chats came to me even though i kept getting friend acceptance ,so i figure the language translation doesnt happen on their end of the chat.......it gave me the idea to get a wireless internet phone like an I-phone in nicaragua with me so i can load up translator application and learn more spanish...Does anyone know if those kind of apps access in nicaragua??my guess is that they do because internet is internet, one world global system...i decided not to buy the phone here but in nicaragua because of the simm chip compatability over national borders.......I remember in Spain a decade ago,my mexican spanish was only half way useful and the spaniards i met all claimed to speak "Catalunya" and not "Espanol", some pronounciations sounded italian to me in spain...so i imagine what i learn outside of nicaragua may need adjusting when i expose to the local stuff there..........i still want to have the translator app on a phone to learn spanish anywhere and any time i have a signal......
