Dec 9th going to Nicaragua

Hello. I am planing on going to Nicaragua for a month starting this December. I read that that is the best time to go. I found an apartment for rent on tripadvisor, but the owner does not have any reviews and it is very cheap. Sounds too good to be true. I speak spanish very well and grew up in a mexican household. I guess my biggest hurdle right now is finding an affordable place to stay. I was thinking of calling a real estate company down there to help find one, but i'm sure they will charge a nice finders fee. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks
