Broadband Internet service in SJDS

Having read some of the negative posts on this subject does any one have any experience in SJDS regarding service in this town ?
Although I am used to the 50 mbps service via Verizon in the US is it possible to have at least a service of 1.5 Mbps via Claro or any provider ?
I am not too particular about TV channels. Thanks
