Is Is Logical?

41yr old Canadian female. Kids grown. No family. Don't want to wait another 10 years to finally move. Only have 10,000CAD to do it.
Of course it ~can~ be done, but how hard will it be? How easily might one find work? How cheap can I really live with my 150lb shepherd? I've considered Ometepe, but am open to just about anywhere so long as my dog can drink the water ;) I would prefer a small house on the outskirts of a town/village within walking distance to groceries, necessities. I would need internet, water and electricity. Long term lease or if rent-to -own is an option that would be fantastic too.
I currently live in a 1 room cabin I built myself. Luxuries and materials are not a concern nor much of a desire. Privacy is.
