wintering in Nicaragua

Hi,
If there is already a thread on this topic I apologize. My wife and I are beginning a new adventure in our lives and part of that is wintering in different spots. We are highly considering Nicaragua. Our time frame next winter (Jan-Mar 2018) While we have experience travelling aboard, something of this magnitude will be new. We do not need much for housing safe clean and functional and somewhat close to the water would be nice but doesn't necessarily need to be right on the ocean What type of monthly rental costs ballpark would we be looking at? What resources are available to shop for said housing? what should we look for and be aware of in general when considering this adventure? Thank you for the help in advance.
