Security for Single gals

Hi All! This site is full of insight. My friend and I are thinking of making the move to Nicaragua. We are early 30's and Nurses by profession. We have money saved up with plans to build a small getaway and live semipermanently. We plan to volunteer medically and make trips to the US (13wk contracts) for supplemental income.

How trustworthy is it to hire builders to build our home? The land we haven't figured out yet (we will travel for a few months to figure out what's best for us) hired lawyer included. We don't mind buying something already built but open to building too!

Should we worry about being taken advantage of like in other countries?

I've read about dating Nicaraguan women, what about the men?

Any insight would help! Happy 4th guys!
