Hello all!
We are planning to sell all belongings and move the entire family to Nicaragua. My husband and our two kids- ages 19 and 10. My sister and her husband and kids 20, 11, and 9. Also, my mother. Of course the irony is that we are fleeing our mountain paradise as it is being absolutely overrun by an influx of people with tons of money buying up everything in sight. We are simple, hardworking people looking to slow down the cycle of working our selves to the grave. We are wanting to enjoy the time we have left.
I’m not overly worried about school for kiddos- they’d rather be homeschooled anyway.
Boredom seems unlikely as we are into naps and walks.
I am planning to make a first visit this spring to feel it out.
I guess I’m wondering about a good sized family moving there. Is this common? Children moving- not just retirees.
I’m hoping for positive feed back but I’m definitely a realist and would appreciate all input.
Thank you from a family looking to get off the hamster wheel of U.S. consumerism,
Fawn
