Moving to Croatia

We are planning to move to Croatia. I am an English teacher and I am hoping that I will be able to find a job teaching English as a foreign language.
My husband will be working in the job he has now as he can be based anywhere.
I am wondering if cost wise it is worth it for us. We are thinking we will need to buy a home as we need something permanent for us and our 3 dogs. We also need something with an annexe for our Mum. Lots of questions. Tax, VAT, Medical care and general cost of living. All feedback would be really appreciated. BTW we are looking to move to north Croatia near north Italy. Thanks in anticipation.
