Next to move St.Lucia, any tips housing/transport?

Hello there,

I'm a new member ( I'm from Rome) and I'm going to move in September 2015 in Saint Lucia due to my job.
In the meantime I'm looking for housing and i'm thinking which area is the right one as will work in La Toc Area but told me is a residential one and maybe can think about to rent an apartment in Rodney Bay. If will do that for sure need to have a transportation and was thinking to rent a scooter.
Please, may you give me some tips about that, any suggestions about distance, time to/from La Toc/Rodney and if there is a public transportation?
