Hi everyone. I've just been offered a job at a hotel in St Lucia and am seriously considering it but have a few concerns and would love your thoughts...!
The package is generous enough to support both myself and my partner, however I know my partner would go crazy without a job, (or something!) to keep him busy.
I can see that it looks like it's really difficult for expats to get jobs out there so that may not be an option, but any tips on that front would be handy. He works in structural engineering but is happy to turn his hand to anything. I'm assuming that even if he didn't work, he would still have to pay the EC$200 a month visa? I haven't seen anything like this on forums for St Lucia, but I know that some countries allow partners to be 'on' their other halves' visas as a spouse - I assume there isn't anything like this there?
We're in our late 20s and it looks like a lot of expats on the island are older - is there a reason for this (other than the working visas situation!?). What is it like there to live as a someone our age? We're both super active and sporty and would likely spend any free time outside, taking part in watersports etc.
Thanks so much in advance for your help!
Sophie
