Retiring to St Lucia

Hi all, we are planning to move permanently from New Zealand to St Lucia in the very near future. We would appreciate some clarification on how we can do this as we had hoped that buying property over $300k would be our gateway to citizenship or permanent residency. We also appreciate that the citizenship by investment scheme is an option but would prefer to buy property. We’d really appreciate any guidance you can give us please. Thank you
