Cuenca spiders, money, health

Greetings,
My wife and I are retired US expats currently staying in Medellin, Colombia. We are becoming interested in Cuenca. It seems like a very interesting and vibrant destination. Given that, I have a few questions. Your replies will be much appreciated.
• I do have a fear of spiders. Are the tarantulas common? Do they get in residences often? Have you been bitten?
• Are there any parasitic digestive conditions we should be aware of? Any readers infected? How was this cured?
• Have you had items shipped from Amazon? Expensive freight charges?
• Maximum amount of ATM withdrawals? ATM withdrawal fee?
