What do I need to know before moving to Kosovo?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Kosovo, they said:

"Kosovo is a small, landlocked country in the Balkans, bordered by Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, and North Macedonia. It is a predominantly Muslim country, with a majority of the population identifying as Albanian. The official language is Albanian, but Serbian is also widely spoken. The currency is the Euro, and the cost of living is relatively low. Expats should be aware that Kosovo is still a developing country, and infrastructure and services may not be as advanced as in other parts of Europe. It is important to research the local laws and customs before moving to Kosovo, as there may be restrictions on certain activities. Additionally, expats should ensure they have the necessary visas and permits before travelling to Kosovo," replied a member in Kosovo.

How do I find a place to live in Kosovo?

We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:

"The best way to find a place to live in Kosovo is to search online for rental listings. Websites such as Immobiliare.it, Immobiliare.al, and Immobiliare.rs are popular resources for finding rental properties in Kosovo. Additionally, you can search for rental listings on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, you can contact local real estate agents who can help you find a suitable place to live. Finally, you can also ask friends and family who live in Kosovo for recommendations," commented one expat who made the move to Kosovo.
