If you have not spent a lot of time in Rwanda, you should rent before even thinking about buying. We asked expats there about the buy vs. rent decision:
"When deciding whether to buy or rent a home in Rwanda, it is important to consider your financial situation, lifestyle, and long-term goals. Buying a home can be a great investment, as it can provide you with a stable place to live and the potential for appreciation in value. However, it also requires a large upfront investment and ongoing maintenance costs. Renting a home can be a more affordable option, as it requires less of an upfront investment and no maintenance costs. However, it does not provide the same potential for appreciation in value. Ultimately, the decision to buy or rent a home in Rwanda should be based on your individual needs and preferences," said one expat in Rwanda.
What should I pack when moving to Rwanda?

"When moving to Rwanda, it is important to pack items that will help you adjust to the climate and culture. In addition, there are private healthcare providers in Rwanda that offer more comprehensive services, including specialist care. What are medical services in Rwanda like?

"Rwanda has made significant progress in improving access to healthcare services in recent years. The government has invested in expanding the number of health centers and hospitals, as well as training more health professionals. Primary healthcare services are available in most parts of the country, and specialized services are available in larger cities. The government also provides free healthcare for pregnant women, children under five, and people living with HIV/AIDS. Additionally, the government has implemented a health insurance scheme to help cover the cost of medical services for those who cannot afford them," stated one expat who made the move to Rwanda.
