Summary: The quality of medical care in Mongolia is generally considered to be lower than in the United States. Medical facilities are often outdated and lack the latest technology and treatments. Emergency services are available, but response times can be slow and the quality of care may not be as high as in the US. To call for an ambulance, you can dial 103 or contact your local police station.

How are healthcare services Mongolia?

"Healthcare services in Mongolia are provided by both public and private institutions. The public healthcare system is funded by the government and is available to all citizens. The quality of public healthcare is generally considered to be good, with a focus on preventive care and primary care services. Foreign residents are able to access the public healthcare system, although they may need to pay for some services. Expats in Mongolia can use the public healthcare system, but they may need to pay for some services. In addition, many expats opt to purchase private health insurance to cover any additional costs," remarked one expat in Mongolia.

Are healthcare and health insurance expensive in Mongolia?

"Healthcare and health insurance in Mongolia can be expensive, especially for those who are not covered by the government's social health insurance system. Private health insurance is available, but it can be costly and may not cover all medical expenses. Additionally, the cost of medical care in Mongolia is generally higher than in other countries, and the quality of care can vary significantly. As a result, many people in Mongolia are unable to access the healthcare they need due to the cost," mentioned one expat in Mongolia.

Hospitals have been overwhelmed with patients, and there has been a shortage of medical supplies and personnel. The government has implemented strict measures to contain the spread of the virus, including travel restrictions, social distancing, and the closure of schools and businesses. Despite these measures, the number of cases continues to rise, and the healthcare system is struggling to cope. The government has also implemented a nationwide vaccination program, but the rollout has been slow due to a lack of resources.
