"Expats in Uganda appreciate the warm hospitality of the local people, the vibrant culture, and the beautiful landscapes. They also enjoy the diverse cuisine, the vibrant music and dance, and the rich history and traditions of the country. Additionally, expats appreciate the strong sense of community and the strong family values that are so prevalent in Uganda," remarked one expat in Uganda.
What do expats find most challenging?
"Expats in Uganda often find the local culture to be quite different from what they are used to. Many find the pace of life to be slower than what they are accustomed to, and the lack of modern conveniences can be a challenge. Additionally, the language barrier can be difficult to overcome, as English is not widely spoken in Uganda. Furthermore, the cultural norms and expectations can be difficult to understand, as they are often quite different from those of the expat's home country," explained one expat living in Uganda.
