Expats, digital nomads and retirees living in Cameroon responded:

"Expats and digital nomads in Cameroon appreciate the country's diverse culture, friendly people, and beautiful landscapes. They also enjoy the low cost of living, which allows them to stretch their money further. On the other hand, they may find the infrastructure and public services lacking, as well as the limited availability of certain goods and services. Additionally, the language barrier can be a challenge for those who don't speak French or the local languages," explained one expat in Cameroon.

What do expats in Cameroon appreciate most about the local culture?

"Expats in Cameroon appreciate the warm hospitality of the local people, the vibrant culture and the beautiful landscapes. They also enjoy the diverse cuisine, the vibrant music and dance, and the unique art and crafts. Additionally, expats appreciate the country's rich history and the opportunity to explore its many national parks and wildlife reserves," said one person in Cameroon.

What do expats find most challenging?

"Expats in Cameroon often find the local culture to be quite different from what they are used to, which can be challenging. Language barriers can be a challenge, as French is the official language and many locals do not speak English. Additionally, the local customs and traditions can be difficult to understand and navigate. Expats may also find the local infrastructure to be lacking, with unreliable electricity and internet access. Finally, the cost of living in Cameroon can be high, making it difficult to adjust to the local economy," remarked one in Cameroon.
