What are the most challenging aspects of retiring in Sri Lanka?

"One of the most challenging aspects of retiring in Sri Lanka is the cost of living. The cost of basic necessities such as food, housing, and healthcare can be quite high, especially in urban areas. Additionally, the country's infrastructure is not as developed as other countries, making it difficult to access certain services and amenities. Furthermore, the language barrier can be a challenge for those who do not speak the local language, Sinhala. Finally, the country's political and social climate can be unpredictable, making it difficult to plan for the future," said one retiree in Sri Lanka.
