What is it like to retire in Congo?

"Life for a retiree in Congo and its surroundings can be quite enjoyable. There is an active expat community, with many retirees from other countries living in the area. There are plenty of cultural attractions to explore, such as the Congo River, the Virunga National Park, and the Garamba National Park. There are also plenty of recreational activities to enjoy, such as fishing, hiking, and bird watching. For those looking for a bit of nightlife, there are plenty of bars and restaurants to explore," explained one retiree living in Congo.

What are the most challenging aspects of retiring in Congo?

"One of the most challenging aspects of retiring in Congo is the lack of a reliable pension system. Many retirees in Congo rely on their families for financial support, as there is no government-funded pension system in place. Additionally, the cost of living in Congo is high, and the country's infrastructure is not well-developed, making it difficult for retirees to access basic services such as healthcare and transportation. Furthermore, the political and economic instability in Congo can make it difficult for retirees to plan for their future," said a retiree who moved to Congo.
