Will I save money living in Uganda?
"Living in Uganda can be significantly cheaper than living in the United States. The cost of living in Uganda is much lower than in the United States, with basic necessities such as food, housing, and transportation costing significantly less. Additionally, the cost of entertainment and leisure activities is also much lower in Uganda than in the United States. As a result, living in Uganda can be a great way to save money compared to living in the United States," explained one expat.
What is the average cost of housing in Uganda?

"The cost of housing in Uganda varies greatly depending on the location and type of housing. Generally, housing in urban areas tends to be more expensive than in rural areas. Prices for rental properties range from low-cost, basic housing to more expensive, modern apartments. In addition, the cost of purchasing a home in Uganda can be quite high, with prices ranging from a few hundred thousand to several million Ugandan shillings," remarked one expat in Uganda.

"The rental price for a nice 1 bedroom apartment in Uganda can vary depending on the location and amenities, but generally ranges from around $400 to $800 per month. For a nice 2 bedroom apartment, the rental price can range from around $600 to $1,200 per month," wrote an expat living in Uganda.
What appliances are typically included in a rental?
We asked foreigners in Uganda what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:
"In Uganda, rental properties typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, and washing machine. Other common appliances may include a microwave, dishwasher, and air conditioning unit. Depending on the property, additional amenities such as a water heater, water filter, and security system may also be included," said an expat in Uganda.
